Reads, Ink is an independent book store, specializing in USED books of all genres.  We also carry new titles and are happy to special order or search for anything you may not find in store.  The shop itself is as rich in history as the books that line its many shelves.  Reads, Ink is located on one of the “winding streets” in the Historic District of Frederick Law Olmstead designed steel town, Vandergrift, PA.  It has been a funeral home, a hospital during the flood of 1936, and home to the Visiting Nurses prior to its current manifestation as a bookshop.  Vandergrift and its surrounding area have been blessed with Reads, Ink’s literary presence for over 15 years.   Last August, the shop entered a new phase, when it entered the hands of current owners, Tina and Patrick.  Under the new ownership, many changes are being made, including the implementation of Acoustic Music Nights, Reading Groups, Comfy Chairs, Coffee, Tea, and Hot Chocolate, Free WIFI, a Drumming Circle, and other Educational Programs.   Tina and Patrick are working to tap into Reads, Ink’s ultimate potential, by transforming it into a cultural pillar of a unique community, while carrying on its longtime tradition of housing “A LOT of Books!”
